SUCCESS STORY

Mavi İz Koleji × Smartkid: 3x Students in Three Months in Şile

Mavi İz Koleji is a newly opened preschool and daycare in Şile. The product was good, the visibility was not: the site sat on Wix, the page titles answered no local search at all, and no decision moment had been built to get a parent to pick up the phone. We rebuilt the site from scratch on a static architecture, tied all six pages to the "Şile preschool" search, and redesigned the contact path around the phone and WhatsApp.

Mavi İz Koleji is a preschool and daycare serving Şile. It focuses on younger age groups and runs a program that includes English every day. What was missing was not the education side; it was a digital footing where a parent could search for the school and find it.

Today the same school has a site that opens in 0.2 seconds, a structure in which all six pages are tied to local search, and — according to the school's own account — a student count that tripled in three months.

The Starting Point: A Good School, an Invisible Site

Mavi İz's site was on a hosted platform. Visually it was not a problem; the problem was that what the site existed for was undefined. The pages described the school, but nobody was reaching those pages.

In a district like Şile, searching for a preschool is almost entirely local and mobile: the parent searches on their phone, looks at a few options and calls one. A school that is invisible at the first link of that chain cannot put any of its remaining advantages to use.

The Diagnosis: The Problem Was Not Promotion, It Was the Decision Moment

In July 2026 we audited the site end to end. What came out was the picture we see at most schools in this category:

  • The page titles answered no search. Titles in the form "Home | Mavi İz Koleji" contained neither the district name nor the name of the service.
  • No decision moment had been built. When a parent liked the school, it was unclear what to do next; the contact path was buried deep in the page.
  • The parent testimonials were sample text. Fake reviews from the template were still in place — in this category that lowers trust rather than raising it.
  • There was no local content. Nothing a parent actually searches for, like "how to choose a preschool in Şile", had ever been produced.
  • There was an empty section on the home page. An unfilled area left over from the template.

Fix 1: We Rebuilt the Site from Scratch on a Static Architecture

Instead of patching the existing setup, we rebuilt the site from the ground up: a static architecture that does no server-side work and is served as ready-made files. The home page today weighs about 20 kilobytes and opens in 0.2 seconds.

During the domain migration the school's email records were preserved — this is the accident that happens most often in site rebuild projects, and interrupting a school's correspondence with parents is unacceptable. The images were moved onto our own server, and a small-size version of every photo was produced separately, so the gallery does not keep anyone waiting on a mobile connection.

Fix 2: We Tied All Six Pages to Local Search

This was the lowest-cost, highest-impact work in the project. Every page title was rebuilt around the phrase a parent actually types:

  • Home page → Şile Preschool & Daycare
  • About → About | Şile Preschool
  • Curriculum → Curriculum — English Every Day
  • Gallery → Gallery | Şile Preschool Photos
  • Contact → Contact & Pre-Registration | Şile Preschool

Six out of six pages now carry the district name and the service description. For the parent who does not know the school's name but is looking for a preschool in Şile, the school became findable for the first time.

Fix 3: We Met Parents on the Phone, Not in a Form

The most common mistake in this category is building conversion on a long form. But a parent looking for a preschool does not fill out forms; they call. They want to weigh up the place where they will leave their child by talking to someone.

So we built the contact path the other way around: the phone number is callable with one tap on every page, the WhatsApp link sits somewhere visible, and the contact page was positioned as "Contact & Pre-Registration" — whoever wants to calls, whoever does not leaves a short pre-registration.

A professional photo shoot went along with this. In preschool marketing, stock imagery does not produce trust; a parent wants to see the real classroom, the real garden and the real activity. The gallery page was built on top of that shoot.

Result: 3x Students in Three Months

In the three-month period after the new site went live, the school's student count tripled, according to the school's own account.

We pass that rate along exactly as it is, and we write down its context too: Mavi İz was a newly opened school, which means the growth started from a small base. On a small base, the rate naturally comes out high. What is meaningful here is not the size of the rate but the reason behind it — the school was already good, it just was not visible.

The work continues: local content production, structured data (school schema) and measurement on the advertising side are the next items.

What This Case Teaches

At a neighborhood-scale school, digital's job is not to persuade but to be found and to make things easy. The parent already arrives ready to decide; what loses them is not finding the school in the search results, or not working out how to reach it once they have.

What we did at Mavi İz came down to three steps: we made the site fast, tied every page to the phrase a parent types, and reduced calling to a single tap. None of it is a creative idea; all of it is basic work put in the right order.

When we work with schools, we keep the team at one table: designer, developer, photographer and performance marketing specialist on the same project.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a preschool really need a website if parents already come by word of mouth?

Word of mouth is still the strongest channel, but today the parent who gets the recommendation goes to search as the second step. Someone who hears a school's name from a neighbor looks up that name first, then the phrase "preschools in the area". A school with no site, or one that never shows up in the results, falls outside the comparison even though it was recommended. The site's job here is not to sell; it is to confirm the recommendation and make getting in touch easy.

Which page matters most on a preschool site?

The contact page. In this category parents do not decide by reading long copy; they look at the photos, check the location and call. So the phone number on the contact page has to be callable with one tap, the WhatsApp link has to stay visible, and the pre-registration form has to be short. At Mavi İz we built the contact page as "Contact & Pre-Registration": a parent can either call or leave a pre-registration.

Why do page titles matter on a preschool site?

Because local search reads everything off the title. A title in the form "Home | School Name" answers no search intent at all; a parent does not search the school's name, but the district they live in and what they need. At Mavi İz we rewrote the titles of all six pages to carry the district and the service — the home page now opens with "Şile Preschool & Daycare". This is one of the fixes that requires no code change and shows its effect fastest.

What role do photos play in marketing a preschool?

A decisive one. A parent wants to see the place where they will drop their child off every morning, and in this category stock photography produces doubt instead of trust. A photo of the real space, the real classroom and the real activity does what no written sentence can. On the Mavi İz project the professional shoot was planned as a separate line item, and the gallery page was built on top of it.

For a small school: a static site or a hosted platform?

With few pages, a static architecture works noticeably better. Hosted platforms do server-side work on every visit, which means waiting on a mobile connection. Mavi İz's site is served as ready-made files and the home page opens in about 0.2 seconds. Because the content on a preschool site rarely changes, the speed you pay for the platform's flexibility buys nothing in return.

Is 3x growth in three months possible at any school?

No, and presenting the number that way would be misleading. Mavi İz was a newly opened school; when growth starts from a small base, the rate naturally comes out high. What matters here is not the size of the rate but the reason behind it: the school was already good, it simply was not visible where parents were searching, and getting in touch was hard. At an established school running at full capacity the same work will not produce this rate — there the goal is not growth but holding capacity and building a waiting list.
