Smartkid is an Istanbul-based agency that builds the digital growth of private hospitals inside the limits of the regulation. The Regulation on Promotional and Informational Activities in Health Services, which entered into force on November 12, 2025, closed off sponsored promotion by private hospitals inside Turkey; in return, it expressly left free registration with search engines and organic visibility open. The practical consequence is this: domestic growth for a private hospital is now largely a matter of findability — being there at the moment the patient searches, in the right specialty, with the right answer. Health tourism, meanwhile, is subject to a separate regime, and the rules work differently there.
Any campaign built without knowing this distinction exposes the hospital to administrative fines, suspension of operations and access-blocking orders. What the regulation closed: announcements of prices, discounts, campaigns and promotions — publicizing the price of a check-up package, or a discount on it, falls here; promotion using the thank-you and satisfaction statements of patients and their relatives; sponsored promotion and paid prominence aimed at the domestic audience (a narrow exception is granted for the first month following an opening); reaching patients by SMS, email, telephone or social media message without consent; comparisons that create a perception of superiority, prize-draw and gift mechanics, and images altered through editing or retouching. What remains — the area a private hospital can lawfully use inside Turkey — is this:
What separates marketing in healthcare from other industries is not creativity but regulatory discipline. A piece of promotion that lands the hospital in an inspection costs far more than the patients it brought in — and the sanction does not stop at a fine; it extends to access-blocking and suspension of operations.
In a category where advertising has been closed off, growth does not come from raising the budget but from positioning yourself correctly at the patient's moment of decision. In a private hospital, that moment almost always begins with a search: a symptom, a specialty name, a physician's name or a question about a test. The following items are the sequence that genuinely works in the area the regulation left open:
We focus our services on the three areas the regulation left open: findability, trust and patient experience. On the health tourism side, we build the channels the separate regime permits separately.
We build a content architecture in which every specialty and every physician in your hospital corresponds to a distinct search intent. Local searches, symptom-based queries and physician-name searches are different routes; each has to be met on its own terms. This is the channel the regulation left open as free registration.
We measure and grow your hospital's visibility on ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity. We run the measurement weekly on our own infrastructure; as of October 2026 we track with data which institutions from Turkey are shown in private hospital queries and which sources are being read.
Acquiring patients from abroad is regulated separately: with HealthTürkiye authorization, a separate platform in languages other than Turkish, and on the condition of targeting abroad only, sponsored promotion and consent-based sharing of patient stories are possible. We build this channel separately from domestic communication.
